I subscribed to a “bunch” share 2 years ago and received delivery at the Dupont location (16th and P). As far as location goes, it couldn’t have been closer to my apartment, which was across the street. The season ran 19 weeks, which I suppose is pretty close to standard, though some offer three 8/week seasons, and you can opt for each.
Leigh Hauter was the farmer and he was nothing but nice. He was always on time and very helpful. This share did not include fruit, as that would cost extra. I did however get farm fresh eggs every week, which were incredibly good and you could tell they were fresh from chicken.
I found that the variety was bit to be desired, as there was often a lot of the same, less “interesting” vegetables and the lettuce was often of poor quality. I understand the difficulty in farming and all the variables that can lead to problems or just the opposite, great produce. I chose not to continue with this CSA as I had moved and it was no longer convenient. I would recommend the share to someone who is looking to do their first CSA and wants to be challenged to cook things with whatever they get that week.
